ROYC Innovates: September 2026
Making AI Work Across Fundraising, Onboarding and Reporting
Private markets continue to grow across institutional and wealth channels. Yet core processes such as fund onboarding, document handling, capital events and reporting still rely heavily on manual coordination. Many fund managers work with spreadsheets and software assembled from separate tools over time, with no single record connecting a fund to its service providers and investors.
ROYC's approach is to embed AI into the workflows themselves, rather than applying it as a separate layer on top.
With ROYC OS, this approach now runs across the fund lifecycle, from fundraising to onboarding and reporting.
One Investor Record Across the Fund Lifecycle
ROYC OS was built as one integrated, modular system from day one. Its four modules, Fundraising Workspace, Onboarding & Subscriptions, Investor Lifecycle & Reporting, and Fund Operations Workspace, all read and write to one investor data record rather than four separate databases.
AI is embedded directly into the operating layer and connected to the underlying fund and investor data, so it can automate and augment daily workflows. As Peter Bergenwald, CTO of ROYC, put it: "We made an early decision to treat AI as embedded into how the platform works, not something added afterwards."
AI at Each Stage
Fundraising. The Fundraising Workspace turns investor interest into signed commitments faster, replacing fragmented data rooms, investor management tools and spreadsheet-based fundraising trackers. AI helps out with translation of fundraising materials, with human review.
Onboarding. AI extracts and pre-screens KYC documents within the Onboarding & Subscriptions module.
Reporting. Fund and asset-level data is turned into centralised, investor-ready reporting, distributed automatically and giving investors one complete view. AI answers fund reporting questions in natural language.
What this means in practice:
→ One investor data record shared across all four modules, instead of four separate databases
→ KYC/AML information captured and reused when an investor subscribes again
→ Paperwork digitised and pre-filled, with closings automated
→ More of the work handled within the system, instead of coordinated across people and tools
Built to Stay in Control
ROYC OS is independently audited and ISO 27001 certified, and runs on a single-tenant architecture that keeps each client’s data in its own fully isolated instance. All AI use cases are designed to comply with GDPR, ISO 27001 and fund-specific data requirements.
Client data is not used for model training, and human oversight remains in place for client-impacting decisions. The platform is built on a serverless architecture on AWS and follows an AI model-agnostic approach, integrating external AI models while developing proprietary capabilities where needed.
Start Where It Matters Most
Clients can begin with the module that solves their most pressing problem and add others later, without a new integration or vendor. ROYC OS also integrates with existing fund service providers. As Bergenwald noted, turning on a new module is "a configuration, not a rebuild."
Embedding AI into core workflows reduces manual processes to review and approvals, allowing clients to scale private markets activities without increasing operational complexity.
