ROYC Innovates: December 2025
Over the past year, ROYC has focused on building durable foundations that support long-term growth and increasing complexity across private markets. The initiatives described below capture how security, technology, and operational capabilities have evolved together, reinforcing trust, scalability, and flexibility for managers and investors alike.
Strengthening Trust and Security Foundations
A defining milestone of the year was the achievement of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for ROYC AB’s Information Security Management System (ISMS). This certification validates that ROYC’s information security framework meets internationally recognised standards and applies across all core functions, including Technology, Product Engineering, Legal, Investor Services, and Finance.
The certification confirms that ROYC has implemented structured risk management processes, robust governance controls, and continuous monitoring mechanisms to safeguard sensitive client, investor, and transaction data. Hosted on AWS, ROYC’s infrastructure is designed to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability across the full investment lifecycle. Importantly, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is not treated as a static compliance exercise, but as a foundation for continuous improvement, supported by ongoing audits and annual reviews.
By embedding security directly into product development and operational workflows, ROYC ensures that innovation and data protection evolve in parallel. This approach reinforces client confidence and regulatory readiness in an increasingly complex private markets environment.
AI also moved from story to real build-out. Capital spending on data centers, power, and grid capacity is now shaping opportunities across equity, credit, and infrastructure. And liquidity isn’t something we simply hope for anymore, it’s something we plan for, with secondaries and structured tools doing more of the work.
Communication, Access Control, and Content Management
ROYC continued to enhance communication and access management across the platform. A new notification module ensures advisors are automatically alerted when investors receive updated documents, including capital account statements, financial statements, and quarterly reports. Notifications can be managed and tracked through a dedicated dashboard.Access rights management was strengthened through team-based permission structures, and granular access levels. These capabilities support efficient collaboration while maintaining robust governance controls.
Enabling New Fund Structures and Investor Access
Evergreen structures offer continuous entry and exit opportunities, providing greater flexibility and accessibility compared to traditional closed-ended funds. However, their adoption requires robust regulatory alignment, operational precision, and scalable technology.
ROYC continued to expand its support for modern fund structures, helping managers operate evergreen and regulated vehicles with greater confidence, flexibility, and transparency. Key capabilities include streamlined cross-jurisdiction onboarding, reduced friction in subscription and monitoring processes, enhanced clarity around share classes and fees, and embedded liquidity management features.
Behind the user-facing experience, ROYC’s infrastructure ensures consistency, auditability, and reliability. The result is a platform designed not only to support current regulatory frameworks, but also to anticipate the future direction of private market accessibility.
Enhancing Fund Lifecycle Management and Analytics
Throughout the year, ROYC delivered a series of enhancements to improve fund lifecycle management, analytics, and decision-making.
The Fund Opportunity Editor and Publisher introduced structured workflows for creating and launching new investment opportunities, including country-level access management. This enables precise control over investor eligibility, supporting regulatory compliance and targeted distribution strategies.
Advanced analytics capabilities were expanded through more granular dashboards, providing deeper insights into fund performance, investor behaviour, and critical operational metrics. These tools support more informed decision-making for both GPs and investors.
Capital call forecasting and group investment data management were also significantly enhanced. Redesigned interfaces allow clearer visualisation of upcoming capital calls and distributions, enabling proactive planning and improved communication between GPs and Limited Partners (LPs).
Advancing Core Platform Capabilities
Data Room and Document Management
A major usability enhancement was delivered through the launch of the New & Improved Data Room. The redesigned interface significantly improves document management for both operational teams and investors. Users can now upload entire folders directly into the opportunity editor, reducing administrative overhead and accelerating setup times.
For investors, the enhanced Data Room offers advanced search functionality and simplified download options, ensuring rapid access to relevant information. For operational teams, improved organisational tools enable efficient categorisation and tracking of documents across multiple opportunities. These improvements are underpinned by robust security controls to ensure document confidentiality and controlled access.
Share Class Management
ROYC introduced an advanced approach to share class management, addressing one of the most complex operational challenges in private markets. Each share class is precisely defined by its investment conditions, including fee structures, commitment thresholds, and eligibility criteria. Share classes can be customised per opportunity or distribution partner, even where identical naming conventions are used.
ROYC expanded its share class management capabilities to support complex fund structures with greater consistency, accuracy, and operational control across jurisdictions and distribution partners.
Improving Speed, Transparency, and Collaboration
Several innovations focused on reducing time-to-market, increasing transparency, and improving collaboration across stakeholders.
We reduced time-to-market for new investment opportunities by simplifying creation, review, and launch into a single, integrated workflow, improving accuracy, speed, and cross-team alignment. This reduces errors and eliminates reliance on multiple external tools.
We strengthened forecasting and planning capabilities to give GPs and investors clearer forward-looking visibility into capital activity and liquidity needs. Portfolio dashboards were upgraded to provide real-time visibility into transaction histories, paid-in capital, and performance metrics through interactive visualisations.
Global Operations and Investor Experience Enhancements
To support global investment activity, ROYC enhanced its multi-currency banking integration, allowing up to three bank accounts in different currencies per investment account. This enables unified balance tracking and simplified currency conversion, reducing operational complexity for cross-border investors.
Advanced account sharing capabilities were introduced to support collaborative investment management. Secure sharing, granular permission controls, and activity tracking enable families, advisors, and investment groups to manage portfolios together while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
Portfolio filtering and visualisation tools were redesigned to provide more granular control over portfolio views, enabling users to analyse investments by type, status, performance, and custom attributes.
